  Over the years I have purchased many a "Buggy" of concrete from Shields Inc. Over the years I have suffered the degrading quality of consistency of the concrete and service. One thing that is there in copious amounts is attitude and excuses.Not being a MYSOGYNOUS, I can only call it like I see it. In the past several years the operation has been dominated and the customer service supplied by one female after another. It was tolerable at first and after a change of hands or two it is what it is today. Biotches. If you want a wet load full of sand and no cement, or a dry load, on a hot Bakersfield day with an inconsistant mix poured into a ratty buggy squirted with diesel at extra cost, go there. The prices are high and the facility is out in timbuctu. You are expected to drive to your destination, pour your load, clean the buggy and be back within three hours unless you have special permission. A yard of mud is less expensive than say 1/2 of a yard but the buggy only holds 1 1/4 yards. So if you have a two yard job and you leave with a full buggy of 1 1/4 yards, then return for the other 3/4 yard, you will be charged at two different rates! They will charge you a higher rate for the 3/4 yard even though it is all part of the same job. No more abuse for me. I would go anywhere else at this point, rather than go there.You have been warned..
