  Just went for a quick taco and they talked me into staying. The chicken taco was absolutely disgusting but the chef was very attentive and promptly replaced my order. I then received a shredded beef taco which was ok but still not what I originally wanted (simple ground beef taco.) It's a fun place tho with live Mariachis and the owner and chef are super friendly and helpful. I will go again sometime to try the molcajetes, which I'm sure are good since it's their signature dish.

  This has got to be the best Mexican restaurant in Bakersfield for several reasons.
  
  I decided to go out of my way to
  Food is great and authentic. Portions are large and I can never finish the whole plate and therefore I always have leftovers.
  
  Customer service: I've been here during lunch, brunch, dinner, weekdays and weekends, I have to say that no matter at what time of day or day of the week and no matter how busy or relatively quiet it may be they ALWAYS, ALWAYS manage to provide exemplary table service. Service and attention has got to be their core strength.
  
  On weekends it tends to get busy and you end up waiting to be seated, no different than waiting on a Denny's or an Apple Bee's so I would suggest to call them ahead of time and make a reservation if you have a large party.
  
  For these reasons I consider them the best in Bakersfield and give 5 stars to Los Molcajetes Restaurant and their complete team.
